"Where it all started." - Fredbear's loading message

Fredbear is a unlockable character and guide to the player in FNaF World.

8-bit Fredbear (Also known as Glitched Fredbear or Sprite Fredbear) is an easter egg and the main guide to obtaining the "Clock Ending".

Appearance

Fredbear is a golden-colored variant of Freddy Fazbear wearing a purple bowtie, and a top hat, appearing as a smaller version of his counterpart from the Five Nights at Freddy's 4 minigames. Also if one looks closely, he lacks some joints, such as his kneepads, and unlike his core series counterpart he has two buttons and only has four fingers.

In FNaF World

Fredbear is a playable character in FNaF World, he is both a guide and an unlockable character. If you have your party leader set to Fredbear and talk to Fredbear it will unlock the Universe Ending.

I know you may feel like going out and taking a stroll, but something seems very wrong today. All is NOT well in Animatronica. Animatronic Village? Village-tronica? (We are working on it.) The point is that something is horribly wrong! There have been a lot of bizarre creatures roaming around lately, even some that look like… *gulp* …us. We aren’t prepared to deal with situations like this. Something bad must have happened on the flipside. Go see what you can find. Be careful though, our wood-cutting Auto-Chipper has gone haywire! It has been jumpscaring me all day!

I think I found a clue as to what is happening! Look behind me, there is a tree that is distorted and glitched. You don’t know as much as I do, but I will tell you that this is a safe haven, a sanctuary. Whatever has gone wrong, we have to fix it. It will be an adventure! Something horrible must have happened on the flipside, because it’s causing this world to fracture. Objects like the tree behind me have broken. But I think you can use these fractures to get to places you couldn’t reach before. You have to go and find the source of these fractures!

Great! Be sure to press that button behind you to clear the path for later. That way you won’t have to take the long way again! I think that a lot of these ‘monsters are misguided side-effects of whatever has happened on the flipside. It looks like you can knock some sense into them and they’ll join you. How wonderfully convenient! You need to find another sub-tunnel under the the game, and it’s probably hidden inside another glitched object! Ahead are the Dusting Fields, you will probably find the next glitched object there. Be careful; things only get more dangerous from here!

The sub-tunnel must be up ahead. However, it looks like something is blocking the path. I’m sure it’s nothing you can’t handle! I do need to warn you of something, though. When you enter a glitched object into a sub-tunnel, it’s possible to find yet another glitched object inside. That will take you into a subtunnel beneath the subtunnel! There may even be more glitched objects there! Just be sure to never go more than three glitches down! I’m not sure if you would find your way back up! Be sure to always search for new Chips and Bytes; they will be a huge help against monsters like the one up ahead!

You’ve reached Lilygear Lake! From here I don’t know where your adventure will take you! You should be keeping your eyes open for another glitched object. They are the only way to get to places that are otherwise unreachable! Be careful in the waters of Lilygear Lake! I hear there is a seamonster that attacks at random! Be ready to fight! Good luck!

This is a horribly spooky place. I think I’ll stay right here. You, however, need to keep going! This is a graveyard for broken and unwanted creations. It’s full of nastiness and traps. I don’t think everything here is as it seems. Check the graves and the trees. This whole place is full of illusion!

Looks like trouble up ahead, but you should be used to that by now. They say that there is a secret funhouse hidden here in the circus. It must be inside one of the tents! I have to warn you, I’ve seen two giant animatronics roaming the fairgrounds- a giant bear and a giant pig. They look like abominations to me! Also, the funhouse is full of false walls and secret doors! Don’t get lost! You are getting close to the core of the game! That is where the problem is!

You found the exit! That’s amazing. The giant pig lies on the other side of this sub-tunnel. He guards a key that opens the locks to the final guardians! Each guardian protects a button. Once you have found and pressed the buttons, the gates protecting the game’s security system will be lowered! That’s when you can strike at the heart of whatever is corrupting this world! Navigate your way through the sub-tunnels, but remember, don’t go more than three glitches down! Good luck!

This is it! This is the path to the game’s security system! If you have found all of the buttons, then your path should be clear! The security system has powerful defenses. Make sure you have someone with a shield ability! You won’t survive without it!

  • Fredbear: What's this, a space shooter?
  • Fredbear: Holy crap! Is that my voice?!
  • Fredbear: Voice acting?! Nooooooo! He's gone too far this time!
  • Fredbear: You need to shut this game down!

  • Fredbear: Do a barrel roll!
  • Fredbear: Sorry, I'm not sure what came over me.

Role In Game

NPC Fredbear gives "quests" to the player. Like the other playable characters, Fredbear has three attacks -

  • Mega Bite Icon - A red attack that deals more than Bite or Bite 2.
  • Regen Song - A pink attack that gives a regen effect similar to the Regen byte.
  • Mimic Ball - A yellow attack that copies all the player's attacks for a limited time.

If the player puts playable Fredbear at the start of their party while talking to non-playable Fredbear, both will explode and the player will get the Universe Ending.

A strategy that can be used is to use Mega Bite to deal massive amounts of damage to a singular target while applying Regen Song if you sense a big attack coming or simply need to heal up.Mimic Ball is perfect if there is a character that has a skill that can do high amounts of damage.

Trivia
  • Fredbear often switches which hand he holds his microphone with. This is due to his sprite being flipped
  • Fredbear is the first character who is a NPC, playable character, and enemy, with adventure Animdude from the halloween update second.
  • Fredbear was the one of the exclusive characters revealed for FNaF World, the others being Spring Bonnie and Endoplush.
  • Fredbear was also one of the first characters to be revealed for FNaF World.
  • If you talk to NPC Fredbear with Adventure Fredbear at the head of your party, both Fredbears glitch and the message reading, "The same Fredbear can´t occupy the same space at the same time." appears. Then the top half of both Fredbears blow up, leaving just their legs with the message "Universe end". The game then goes back to the title screen and a trophy of Fredbear's legs appears in the file selection menu.
    • This is a reference to a time paradox, when two of a same person meets, the universe collides.
    • Although he is believed to be the incarnation of Golden Freddy, this does not work. This is likely because Golden Freddy and Fredbear are from different parts of the timeline in the core series
  • Fredbear and Toy Freddy are the only counterparts of Freddy with a pink attack.
  • When battling Fredbear, his name will be "???".
    • This is the same thing with the bottom row of characters of the party creation menu. The only bottom row character who doesn't have their name as ??? while being challenged is Springtrap.
  • Fredbear, Toy Bonnie, BB, JJ, and Spring Bonnie (in his/her attack animation) are the only characters with moving feet.
  • The Fredbear that you talk to in order to get the "Clock Ending" has a very similar appearance to how he looked in the 8-bit Overworld when FNaF World was first released on Steam.
  • When talking to the Update 2 Fredbear dialogue while having Fredbear as your first character of the first team, the Universe End does not happen. It is most likely a bug or a mistake by Scott Cawthon.
  • Fredbear seems to be a recolor of Freddy.
  • Fredbear is the only character that uses still movement frames. This is clearly seen by Update 2.
  • Fredbear might be a mascot for FNaF World, seen by the fact that he is the instructor, a narrator and appears in nearly all areas in the game. It is also worth to note that he holds the most amount of animations/images of himself.
  • Unlike what many people believed, Fredbear is not actually the original incarnation of Freddy Fazbear, instead existing alongside Withered Freddy, as seen by the Fredbear and Friends 1983 show.
  • In Foxy-Fighters, Fredbear breaks the fourth wall by talking about having a voice actor and in that, he knows he is in a video game.
    • The fourth wall breaking is first done in his final appearance near the Desk Man's office.
    • Fredbear says Do a Barrel Roll! in Foxy Fighters. That’s an obvious reference to Star Fox 64.
    • Fredbear is voiced by Kellen Goff in Foxy Fighters.
